FaceOverlay is a macOS application published by Kuip Limited. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app processes and how that information is used.
1. What FaceOverlay Does
FaceOverlay displays a live webcam feed in a floating overlay window on macOS. The app is designed for presentations, demos, tutorials, calls, and screen sharing.
2. Information Processed by the App
FaceOverlay is designed to work primarily on-device.
The app may process:
- Live camera frames from the camera you select
- Local app settings such as overlay visibility, opacity, shape, selected camera, mirroring, and related display preferences
3. Camera Access
FaceOverlay requests access to your Mac camera in order to display your webcam feed inside the overlay window.
Camera access is used only for the app’s core functionality. If camera access is denied, the overlay cannot display a live camera image.
4. Local Processing
Camera frames are processed locally on your device to render the overlay and any enabled visual effects. The app is intended to function without creating a user account or uploading personal content to a remote service as part of its normal operation.
5. Data Storage
FaceOverlay stores user preferences locally on your device using standard macOS application storage. These preferences may include settings such as:
- Overlay visibility
- Window position and size
- Camera selection
- Opacity and corner roundness
- Mirroring and blur preferences
6. Data Sharing
Kuip Limited does not sell personal information through FaceOverlay.
The app is not intended to require account creation or routine server-side data exchange for its basic functionality.
7. Retention
Local settings remain on your device until you remove the app or clear the app’s stored preferences.
8. Children’s Privacy
FaceOverlay is not directed to children under 13.
9. Changes to This Policy
Kuip Limited may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The latest version will be published on this page.
